New to Pilates? You’re in the Right Place!

Welcome! If you’re new to Reformer Pilates (or just new to us), we’re so glad you’re here. We know that stepping into a studio with a big machine full of springs and straps can feel a little… intense. But trust us — the Reformer is your new best friend.

“Wait… what is this machine?”

The Reformer might look like a medieval torture device, but it’s actually a magic bed for your body. The springs aren’t there to make things harder — they’re there to support you, help you move better, and extend your range of motion safely. It’s all about control, not chaos.

Real talk: Everyone starts somewhere

There’s no Olympics for Pilates. No gold medals. No judges. Just you, your body, and a community that’s cheering you on. Every single person in our studio was a beginner once — and we’re here to help you feel confident, strong, and supported from day one.

What Do I Need to Know?

Arrive 10 minutes early
This gives us time to show you around, introduce you to your instructor, and walk you through a quick Reformer orientation.

Share your story
Let your instructor know about your exercise background and any injuries (new or old) we should be aware of. We’ll tailor things to suit you.

Don't forget to bring:

  • A drink bottle

  • A sweat towel

  • Grip socks (to help prevent slipping — but bare feet are totally okay too. Need socks? We’ve got some available to purchase in-studio.)

How often should I come?
If you’re new to Pilates, we recommend aiming for two to three classes per week. This helps you build confidence, get familiar with the Reformer, and start seeing results you can feel. It's always a good idea to have a look at the timetable and book ahead too. Booking ahead helps you lock in a time that works best for your schedule — and makes it easier to stay consistent. When you prioritise your health and fitness like you would any other important appointment, you’re more likely to show up, stay motivated, and see progress. Plus, popular class times can fill quickly, so securing your spot early means no missing out.
